Foxcroft Academy Dormitory
The new dormitory was phase one of a master plan that was developed. Foxcroft Academy had recently implemented a new exchange program that was growing in popularity and the dormitory was an important piece in the continued growth. The new building was located central to the entire campus. To reduce infrastructure, overall project cost and staffing requirements, 2 dormitories were joined together. At the heart are the common areas consisting of "living Rooms" for students to gather, a game room, kitchen, laundry, elevator and stair. Each wing has 2 floors containing 6 double rooms, 3 bathrooms (each shared between 2 rooms), a single flexible room and 3 faculty apartments. Custom wood sun shades were created to minimize heat gain and operable windows were used to promote natural ventilation.
