Tilton Academic Building
The new academic building was strategically placed to complete an existing quadrangle, a major component of a large master plan. The Tilton school required a building that supported and represented a new set of ideals and a new way to teach. Classrooms were designed to be flexible, open and connected to interior and exterior circulation space. Large corridors and a central atrium space were created to support interaction and learning outside of the classroom. Daylighting controls and window shading were among some of the innovative ideas used to conserve energy and create comfortable space.
