Philosophy

We are at a pivotal place in the history of our environment and at BRIBURN we take our role in it seriously. Our understanding of sustainability is deep and our commitment true. We are committed to being at the forefront of building science, energy efficiency, and the latest sustainable products and techniques. While many other firms struggle to keep up with the latest energy codes (even while touting themselves as “green”) we are working on buildings that heat themselves almost entirely with the sun, and offset the costs of high-performing building envelopes with less expensive mechanical systems. By energy modeling all our designs, we can balance investments with savings, reduce consumption, increase durability, ensure high indoor air quality, and incorporate healthy, low-toxin, resource-efficient materials.

Associations

BRIBURN is committed to high-performance sustainable design. We partner with like-minded organizations that continue to push for higher levels of certification, research and development, and a commitment to reduce our demand on fossil fuels. We are members of NESEA (Northeast Sustainable Energy Association), we are committed to meeting or exceeding the AIA 2030 challenge (to make all new buildings and renovations carbon-neutral by the year 2030), and we have signed the AIA materials pledge (to ensure that all aspects of the creation and use of materials are considered, including Human Health, Climate Health, Ecosystem Health, Societal Health, and Circular Economy).
